How's Your Sleep?
Nightmares, flashbacks, intrusive thoughts and images, exhaustion, burnout, chronic hypervigilance and a sense of foreshortened future can all be symptoms of trauma that get set-in following traumatizing situations that we experienced, witnessed, or heard about happening somewhere – or to someone – that we care about. While humanitarian and aid workers, interpreters and NGO employees are especially vulnerable, any of us living or working closely with defenseless populations can quickly get brought down by the barrage of stories and circumstances to which we are exposed.
Â
In this 4-week program, you’ll learn not only about the impact of trauma on our brain and long-term wellbeing, but more importantly, you’ll learn and practice ways to profoundly shift how it sits in your nervous system. By the end of the program, we should all be sleeping through the night, feeling safe in our bodies again, and holding the skillset to help others do the same.
