All living bodies are predisposed towards healing. If we have a cut or a bruise or even a sprained ankle, our bodies will usually be able to repair themselves, whether or not we understand how.
Sometimes, with more serious injuries, our bodies need help to start the healing process – wounds need to be cleaned; stitches, splints or plaster-casts may need to be applied; physical therapy may be necessary. Yet even with all the astounding facilitation that modern medicine provides, it is still our own bodies that do the actual healing.
It is a long held belief that psychological wounds take much longer to heal than physical wounds. Bruising sustained during an assault may disappear within a month, while the memory of that assault and associated fear may remain with a person for a lifetime. Yet treatment with EMDR suggests that this does not have to be the case.
Most people have heard of Energy Healing, which is practiced by physical healers across the world, including nurses, acupuncturists, chiropractors, massage therapists, cranial sacral practitioners and intuitives.
Energy Psychology is a collection of energy healing practices used by psychotherapists and coaches, and is designed to improve physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.
Healing practices are unique in that they manage to be gentle and highly effective with very few (if any) adverse effects, and work in a short amount of time. They can be used as standalone techniques, or blended with other, more traditional forms of therapy, coaching and medical care.
Both TFT and EFT are empirically validated treatments for reduction of distress, anxiety and trauma, although EFT is perhaps a little better known and used more widely.
TFT was the original technique, developed by Roger Callahan Ph.D in 1981. EFT was developed in the 1990s by one of his students, Gary Craig, to simplify the process. Gary also brought his training in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) to the table, introducing “healing scripts” that could be incorporated while tapping on the points.
The main difference between the two techniques today is that TFT tailors the tapping points and their sequence depending on the specific emotions the client is experiencing in the moment. EFT, meanwhile, uses the same points and the same sequence every time, sometimes with additional healing scripts that are introduced by the facilitator and repeated by the client.
Whatever we believe, the first step is understanding we don’t have to do it alone. And, with the right tools and facilitation, we can tap into the many sources of wisdom, guidance and healing available to us, from both inside and outside of ourselves.
Akashic Healing gets to the root of the patterns we feel doomed to keep repeating – whether they are ancestral in nature, or, if our worldview allows for it, from a past-life incarnation.
Akashic Healing creates dynamic shifts in relational patterns, through interventions such as cord-cutting, spirit-to-spirit meditations, healing by proxy and soul-agreement activations.
Akashic Healing can call in the love of our life, the break we need in our career, the discovery of our divine purpose, or simply the encouragement and the knowledge that we are being taken care of.
“What doesn’t kill us doesn’t always make us stronger. It makes us resourceful, driven and highly self-sufficient … often at the expense of our relationships and wellbeing.”
The land on which I am privileged to live and work is part of the larger unceded traditional territories of the W̱SÁNEĆ Indigenous people. The W̱SÁNEĆ people are also known as being part of the Coast Salish First Nations, and their name for this land is SDȺY¸ES. As a settler on SDȺY¸ES, I seek to honor the obligations given to the W̱SÁNEĆ people by XÁLS (Creator) to care for the land and all life.
